Ford’s Colony Country Club

January 1, 2016 I rang in the New Year doing something I absolutely love, decorating events.   I had the pleasure of decorating the Colonial Banquet Room and the Garden Pavilion at Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, VA.

My couple’s ceremony and reception took place in the same venue; very considerate gesture for invited guests.

The ceremony was held in the Colonial Banquet Room it has everything a bride needs; intimacy, roominess, a fireplace and adjustable lighting.   The room does not require many decorations at all, only a few little touches for personalization.Ford's Colony Colonial Banquet Room Fireplace Altar

I was so happy to see chiavari chairs, standard at this venue.  If you ever installed hundreds of chair covers with chair ties you understand my elation.Ford's Colony Chavari Chairs

The reception was held In the Garden Pavilion the room is beautifully draped in fabric from top to bottom, that is to say the ceiling and three walls are draped in white with an added feature of twinkling lights.  Trust me when I say all of this draping is a tremendous value!Ford's Colony Garden Pavillion

The forth, is a wall of windows overlooking the golf course from a  deck with lots of outdoor seating to cool your heals after tearing up the dance floor.Ford's Colony Garden Pavillion Balcony

I missed an opportunity to sample the food, but I heard it was delicious.  It was beautifully displayed and bountiful.

Kudos  to Brittany Rice, the event director for her excellent performance in satisfying our client’s needs. I could not help but notice the staff’s synchronicity in their work flow making sure every detail was attended to- ensuring the bride and groom were happy.

Final points, there is plenty of parking; the facility is clean, spacious and beautiful. Ford’s Colony is a “traditional” venue therefore tables, chairs and linens, all the basics are included.  There is also an onsite event director to assist and advise with matters concerning the venue.

I really enjoyed this experience  and hope I get an opportunity to decorate this beautiful venue again.
