Smiling Faces and Beautiful Spaces
My, my, my, The First Lady of Suffolk Wedding Chapel and Banquet Hall in Suffolk, VA is one fine-looking venue! My readers know I am not easily impressed, but Jen and Matt pulled out all the stops and made this place a treasure to behold. I have to say,“ I am impressed.” The place is upscale; but in no way pretentious.
It is easy to tell they designed this space specifically around the needs of the bride, groom and their guests. From the ornate entry way and grand ballroom to the impressive groom and bridal suites, they literally poured their hearts, souls and lots of love in this place. Honestly, there are too many details to list; you must see it for yourself. Even the outdoor space with extra wide porch, gazebo and lighted cherry blossom trees is delicious.
The 1907 mansion has been restored ladies so no worries the restrooms are impeccable. I certainly lingered in there. The space is not contemporary at all; historically accurate and quite baroque; a feast for the eyes in every inch space. No decorations required for your event. I would say it is well suited for an intimate ceremony and reception for 75-100 guests; it has a capacity for 185. It also works well for other wedding activities, milestone celebrations, corporate meetings and events.
Brett, one of the co-owners tells me improvements in parking-slightly limited- are on the way.
They provide onsite catering. The food and beverages were quite tasty and the presentation was excellent.
The only thing that outclassed the building was the service. The staff was hospitable and genuinely provided outstanding attention to each guest. Ms. Jenn “be” the queen of southern hospitality. I would not for a second hesitate to make this an offering for my clients. Because I know, without a doubt, they will be well taken care of.
Pride of ownership shows at The First Lady. it is definitely worth a look see.
Well done guys, well done. See you soon.
